It has the complete game updated to version 1.5 (which, as you have learned, has the U-Boats Add-on included). Today, a disk copy can be had through several sites. Some time later, D2D was sold to another company and I just didn't want to get into the hassle I was going to have with proving I purchased the download rights from years earlier to a third party. If switching games, its best to exit to windows & relaunch SH4. ![]() I appreciate all the efforts in modifying the game to enhance the experience. Going out to the main menu and then running one of the other games is asking for trouble. I love playing the game but I guess I'm just not interested in the nuts and bolts behind the scenes.I just wanna get to the action ASAP and see how much damage I can inflict on the enemy. It is mind-boggling to me that the majority of the players posting here are so knowledgeable about both all aspects of submarine warfare and at same time so technically capable around a PC's insides. I am truly amazed and humbled by the depth of involvement that so many of the users on this forum have achieved. I think it came out about the time I quit playing SH4 so I didn't follow things about the mods and such after that. Originally I had been turned off by the fact the version seemed to be just a German Uboat game which for personal reasons didn't want anything to do with (unless I could blow THEM out of the water). I've been reading up on SH1.5.reviews and comments. and it doesn't crash as often. Thanks Torpx for clearing that up too. Whichever way you go, Silent Hunter: Wolves of the Pacific is excellent stuff, and other than a few things from SH5 (ie: python scripts, graphics), is a much better game - my opinion again, of course. Notice that it is a WIP (Work In Progress), and most likely will never be completed by Ducimus, but if Bleiente continues on with his edits (and he is a diligent type), it should be pretty cool also. If you go to the last few pages of that, Bleiente is also working on his "interpretation" of the mod. Not to be neglected is Ducimus' (of TMO fame) Nine Delta Two mod. There are several add-on mods for it also. If you are looking for UBoat action, in my opinion, you have to do Operation Monsun from Lurker_hlb3 (of RSRDC fame), in spite of some "upgrade" issues. Bubblehead1980 was also working on his version, but we haven't seen his just yet. But, there is also a version of TMO / RSRDC that Bleiente did, called Ralles RealModPack., in which he includes some nice changes from TMO with RSRDC. Some aspects of the mod are too tough, other aspects are too easy, so we are working on a base "balance" at this time, which is the one part of TMO that is "set" - but that is also because it is not being tweaked on by its author. It is based upon TMO v1.7, originally from the AOTD_MadMax team, and it has all of the ships planes and shore installations of Max's mods, but also quite a few assets of several other mods as well. It is in "production" (a fancy word for "tinkering"), and we are about set to unleash the next version upon the SubSim community, hopefully within the next couple of weeks. Being biased as I am, I'd vote for Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate as the best overall. ![]()
